pros
  • One time reports and subscriptions available
  • Radaris offers full mobile app functionality (iOS and Android)
  • Business verified by Trust Guard and Trustwave, and Norton Secured
  • People search, reverse telephone lookup, background check, and sex offenders
  • Radaris includes unpublished telephone numbers and public telephone numbers
cons
  • Limited customer support on Saturday and no service on Sundays
  • Radaris search results are sometimes inaccurate
  • Radaris does not provide any background reports on people living outside the US
The price is a little on the high side, given the quality of the results, but overall Radaris offers quick search functionality and decent customer support.

This background check service provides a wealth of information about people, professionals, businesses and properties as once-off reports or subscriptions. Radaris integrates the information with social media (Facebook, Twitter, G +) by accessing billions of records instantly. Radaris also provides mobile functionality with a series of apps for sex offender checks, background checks, reverse telephone number lookups and people search. This service is Norton Secured, Trustwave compliant, and Trust Guard verified. Radaris makes it possible to subscribe to a monitoring service for instant updates of information as the data becomes available.

Who Is It For?

Background checks can be performed on virtually anyone that you come into contact with on a daily basis. In fact, you can perform background checks on long-lost friends, relatives, colleagues, coworkers, neighbors, blind dates, boyfriends, girlfriends etc. Radaris makes it possible for you to even conduct a background check on yourself so that you know ahead of time what may come up in an employment search. With the background check services offered by Radaris, you can access a wealth of information. This includes the professional history of individuals, property records searches, patent filings, a full address history, telephone number searches, social media profiles, profile pictures and the like. If you need to know people better, the services offered by Radaris are especially useful. There are free online profiles and premium reports that you can generate. It’s also a great service to use when you’re monitoring your own Internet presence.

Ease of Use Ease of Use

Getting started with a search at Radaris requires you to enter some basic information. First of all, you must determine whether you want to conduct a people search, a business search, a properties search, a telephone search or an email search. Once you’ve made your selection, simply enter the name and the city, state, or ZIP Code. Next, click the search button. While the system is easy to use, it is somewhat lacking in depth and breadth of scope. It doesn’t always pick up the people you are searching for, the businesses you want, the properties you’re looking for, or the telephone numbers you need to find information on. While it is easy to use, we feel that a better job could have been done aggregating information from multiple sources.

Search Capabilities

Once you run a search with Radaris, multiple search parameters will be included. The background check will cover aspects such as social media monitoring, Internet mentions, contact information, businesses, properties, telephones, emails etc. The person being investigated will also be listed with relatives. The advanced people search will provide you with things like full name, age, date of birth, current address, telephone number, email address, residence history, neighbors, birth certificates, death certificates, criminal background check, property records, bankruptcies, judgments, liens, marriage records, divorce records, misdemeanors, relatives, and the like. The search capabilities are all-encompassing, although there is some question as to the quality of the sourcing material.

Data Sources

The data sources at Radaris are all publicly available. However, this background check service also uses third-party data suppliers. For the most part, the information will be sourced from state agencies, government agencies and federal agencies. Some sources include the following: Bing.com, classmates.com, Google.com, peoplesearch.com, PeopleFinders, PeopleWise.com, Facebook.com, LinkedIn.com, Wink.com etc. The sources include a variety of information such as voter registration rolls, property transactions, postal mailing address change requests and the like. At times, information will be taken from telephone companies, sweepstakes drawers and various contests. This information is all publicly available. Note that no information is available if you search for somebody by Social Security number, and no information is available on children. As a non—FCRA company, Radaris cannot run employee background checks for you. This means that the data sources must not be used for screening, investigation, or any background search on employees. Employees include nannies, childminders, babysitters, gardeners, electricians, plumbers, and the like.

Customer support can be reached between 9:30 AM and 8 PM Eastern Standard Time from Monday through Friday. On Saturdays, customer support can be reached between 10 AM and 4 PM Eastern Standard Time. No service is available by telephone on Sundays. We contacted customer support and found them to be useful and knowledgeable. Customer support agents responded in a timely fashion to the online contact form.

Bottom Line Conclusion

Radaris offers a comprehensive range of solutions for personal background checks, business background checks, property searches and telephone lookups. However, one of the biggest problems with this service is that the information is not always updated, and many of the sources do not generate accurate results. The price is a little on the high side, given the quality of the results, but overall Radaris offers quick search functionality and decent customer support.
