Setup Setup

Once you have chosen your plan, Magix Movie Edit Pro will automatically prompt you to download an installation wizard to help you through the setup process. After downloading, the wizard will assist you with setting up the program for initial use and selecting your preferences, which you can always modify later. Overall, it was easy to get started, and the application itself was significantly smaller than other competitors, which was a nice installation bonus.

User Interface User Interface

Magix offers a very intuitive interface for its Movie Edit Pro suite. The video editing software features a three-panel display that includes a player for previews, a second panel that lets you view different scenes, transitions, and effects in thumbnail form, and a third panel across the bottom. We were happy to see that the bottom panel, which displays your film clips and all editing tracks, can be viewed as both a timeline and as a storyboard, letting you do fine-tuning or simpler adjustments on a project-wide scale.

Basic Editing Features

A particularly useful characteristic of the editor is that most of the editing tools you need with Magix Movie Edit Pro reside squarely within your main timeline window. Magix easily lets you clip scenes and drag and drop different shots into your timeline, integrating them seamlessly. From the main timeline, you can select different scenes and access more advanced features that include color correction, lighting controls, and a remarkable variety of visual effects and transitions. Additionally, you can smooth out camera footage to remove any jerky motions, thanks to highly advanced video stabilization technology that is included in all plans for Movie Edit Pro. You can even edit 360-degree video, although you need to purchase an extra add-on for the movie editing software.

Audio Features

Unlike some competitors, Magix Movie Edit Pro offers a full sound editing tool, which gives you significantly more control over your video project’s audio. You can clean audio and reduce noise, as well as normalize and compress sound to make it more uniform throughout. In addition, you can also add audio effects such as reverb and echo. Moreover, you can edit sounds directly from your timeline, and they are displayed as waveforms within their editing track, letting you quickly match them to the right scenes to create complete projects.

Ease of Use Ease of Use

On the whole, we found that Magix is one of the easiest-to-use video editing systems available on the market. Despite having some advanced features that can be tricky for beginners, the overall interface is designed to be straightforward and intuitive. You can quickly move between audio and video editing modules without having to close out your existing projects, retaining full control of your editing at all times. If you prefer a simpler road, Magix also offers automated editing for both video and audio, letting the computer do all the heavy lifting before delivering a final product ready for upload.

It was quite impressive to see Magix Movie Edit Pro in action, as it ran wonderfully during tests. The software has been optimized to run on high settings, and rendering was quick and did not significantly slow down performance. Moreover, Movie Edit Pro supports some of the most advanced formats and resolutions, and does not impact the quality of output at all.

Sharing and Output

We were pleased to see that Magix supports several different video formats, and can create high-quality videos, although for full 4K you must purchase an extra add on. Store your video projects in formats such as AVI, MPEG, and WMV and optimize your videos for sharing on social media and streaming sites. You can also directly publish your work through Magix, easily uploading to YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo, and other sites.

Pricing Pricing

When you are ready to get started, you can choose from one of three plans for Magix Movie Edit Pro. Each includes the majority of the available features, but some add more advanced functionalities. You can choose from:

  • Magix Movie Edit Pro, which starts at €49.99
  • Magix Movie Edit Pro Plus, which adds features such as 360-degree editing, for €99.99

Magix Movie Edit Pro Premium, which includes professional level tools for €129.99

Bottom Line Conclusion

Magix Movie Edit Pro is all about giving you the options needed to be the best video editor you can be. From transitions and effects to different audio tools designed to help your project stand out from the crowd, Magix can help you find the right blend of editing and visual wizardry to create videos that will pop out and look professionally made, even from the comfort of your home.
